How to Spot a Psychopath

psychopath

This is based from my personal experience. I learned a lot from it, I should learn learn from it. It cost me several thousands of pesos. Talk about “learning the hard way”.

It’s not easy spotting a psychopath, especially if the person is not much of an extreme, but what it can do and the consequences of her or his action can be devastating.

Psychopaths usually are the swindlers, overly loners, physical and verbally abusive, con artists, serial killers, terrorists regardless of religious affiliations, and mass murderers.

In my experience, the psycho always talks about herself. She is the lead actress, the poor victim. Easily get emotionally hurt. And based on accounts from my friends who saw her, she lies without any sign of guilt.

I had no inkling of her behavior was psychotic until I watched a documentary in ABS-CBN about a mother whose baby was stolen by woman who pretended to be a talent scout. It was described in the docu show, that the woman suspect has a psychopathic behavior, and almost exactly the behavior of the person I encountered.

I then searched about “psychopath personality” in Google, and this site sums it up. Some of the personalities of a psychopath listed in the site have matched all the pieces of the puzzle.

The Psychopathic Personality

  • glibness/superficial charm
  • conning/manipulative
  • shallow emotional response
  • lack of realistic long term goals
  • irresponsibility
  • grandiose sense of self worth
  • pathological lying
  • lack of remorse or guilt
  • callous/lack of empathy
  • failure to accept responsibility for their own actions
  • criminal versatility

I learned later that she or her family had been embroiled with legal action in the past. So the “criminal versatility” in the above list is a spot on.

This is to warn you and myself if you meet somebody similar.
