Filipinos: How to Avoid the Complaining Attitude

This is a guide on how you react when there’s a new insulting article or tv program, movie or show.

I believe there are two types of complaining, the negative and constructive. I will be dealing with the negative one. No person is free from complaining, but minimizing it will do good to one’s physical health and future aspirations.

Be Confident. It’s hard to be confident when you don’t have something to be confident about. Just think of the Americans. They are perhaps the most hated nationality in this planet. You could find hate videos in Youtube, write ups, comments, and all the hate. I still have to hear of Americans asking for help in human rights groups. I still have to find the Americans complaining about a hate article.

Just simply be confident.

Carrie Prejean versus Perez Hilton

Carrie Prejean versus Perez Hilton in a new twist:

Miss California vesus Perez Hilton

Perez Hilton was mad as hell against Miss California for her opinions regarding same sex marriage. Perez Hilton is probably the most popular showbiz blogger, who labeled himself as the “queen of all media.”

Carrie Prejean, the Miss USA candidate was actually hoping that she would not be asked about “gay marriage” issues. But it was like everyone and everything around her was conniving and the question she was trying to avoid was asked by Perez.

In Perez’s blog, she called Prejean as “dumb bitch” and “half a brain” and even said “would have stormed onto the stage and ripped off her tiara if she had won.”

She gave out her opinion, and that’s about it. But not to Perez Hilton.

Perez’s recent entries on his blog were almost about the issue. Either he is really mad or just trying to stir up further controversy to gather more visits to his blog.

Three Types of Filipinos

There are three types of Filipinos when it comes to reacting to an insult from a foreigner.

1. The Slave. Filipinos got this attitude during the colonial times of Spain. A slave tend to just absorb verbal insults. They don’t have the will to retaliate or to protest.

2. The Complainers. These are the noisy type of Filipinos. When they feel insulted, they shout back with another invectives to that certain foreigner. You hear or see them in internet forums, out in the streets, or literally filing a formal protest.

3. The Confident. I like these group of Filipinos. They may initially feel insulted when they first hear or read of an offending words. But they just dismiss the insult thereafter. In their mindset is that the insulter could be just envious of the Filipinos skills and achievements.

I Missed a Great Chance to be on Television!

A guest coordinator of a current events talkshow Media in Focus (ABS-CBN News Channel) contacted me through this blog to invite me to guest on the show. The invite email was sent on April 6, 2009 which also happens to be the day of the taping, but i just opened the email on April 9, the day of the showing. I have about four emals that i use regularly, but i just simply overlooked the email for this Gwapito.com site.

The topic to be discussed on the show was about the “Chip Tsao” issue.

It was a great opportunity missed. There are four things i missed:

An example is:
If you found a link such this one, http://www.soccerly.com/chelsea-football-club-in-search-of-young-asian-soccer-stars/ , my site can shorten it into http://www.jqr.org?shortlink.

Instructions:
1. Put any word you think is easy to remember in the first blank bar.
2. Put the long link in the second blank bar.
3. Click button with words Create Short URL. Your done.

The Filipinos Should NOT feel insulted by Chip Tsao

It is really ironic that a number of Filipinos were offended by Chip Tsao’s article, particularly by the phrase “nation of servants” referring to the Philippines.

If Chip Tsao is racist and so are the majority of the Filipinos! Worse even.

They make fun of the househelps, labeling them “Dong” and “Inday?” Some of these cry babies even created parody website for “Inday.”

They even joked that the plaza is a place only for the “Dongs” and “Indays” and  even cringe when they go to such place.

These double standard Pinoys were already insulting the servants before Chip Tsao did.

Racism and ethnical insult in Manila television and movie, even in born-again Christian churches has been going on unchecked.

Wake up.

Today April 1 is a Holiday for the Atheists!

April 1 is a special day for the atheists all over the world.

Here is the story of how it started:

In Florida, an atheist became incensed over the preparation for Easter and Passover holidays and decided to contact the local ACLU about the discrimination inflicted on atheists by the constant celebrations afforded to Christians and Jews with all their holidays while the atheists had no holiday to celebrate.

The ACLU jumped on the opportunity to once again pick up the cause of the godless and assigned their sharpest attorneys to the case.

The case was brought before a wise judge who after listening to the long, passionate presentation of the ACLU lawyers, promptly banged his gavel and declared, “Case dismissed!”

The lead ACLU lawyer immediately stood and objected to the ruling and said, “Your honor, how can you possibly dismiss this case? Surely the Christians have Christmas, Easter and many other observances.

And the Jews–why in addition to Passover they have Yom Kippur and Hanukkah .and yet my client and all other atheists have no such holiday!”

The judge leaned forward in his chair and simply said

“Obviously your client is too confused to know about, or for that matter, even celebrate the atheists’ holiday!”

The ACLU lawyer pompously said “We are aware of no such holiday for atheists, just when might that be, your honor?”

The judge said “Well it comes every year on exactly the same date—

April 1st!”

Okay, the story above is fictional. It is probably based from a bible verse Psalm 14:1 which says: “The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.”
