Losers Love to Blame

Blame photo

Losers in a literal game or in life, loves to blame just about anyone, the referee, the circumstances, God, neighbor, friend, enemy, economy, the government, the dog.

Some maybe attributed to some mentioned elements above. But forever doing the blame game is a hopeless effort. A waste of energy.

I have observed with the football coaches and managers. I read in online newspapers all their complaints. Blaming the referee for losing the game.

You know what the winners were doing? The winners were so noisy, not with complaining and blaming, but with celebration.

Filipinos love to blame the government, the corrupt politicians for the third world economy.

While some are caught up with blaming the government, I admire a few individuals who are keen of making the Philippines a first world country by year 2020. They call themselves CA2020.

In the movies, the villains blame the lead actor for his own misery, even the former’s own mistakes, he blames it on the hero.

It’s also true in real life.

Don’ be a loser. Don’t be a villain, stop complaining and blaming.

From Beggar to Giver

Beggar photo
Buy this photo at iStockphoto.

I used to have a beggar mindset. I still have it occasionally.

Filipinos have “beggar mindset”. Well, most of the Pinoys have it. It is ingrained deep each of the Filipinos’ psyche. It is accepted as normal.

Years ago, I would expect a friend who had more money than me to treat me on a  lunch or dinner.

Have you noticed that we Filipinos would expect a white American man to pay the bill if there’s food feast?

We have to break free from it.

In extreme cases, having that mindset is the first step of becoming a bribe taker. A government worker who takes a bribe have this beggar mindset.

I think the first thing to do of breaking free is be a giver. Start small. Give money to your church, increase it gradually. Pay the bus or jeepney fare of your friends’. Give to a charity organization.

There is a reward for being a giver. In the bible, a giver will receive 30, 60 and a hundreds times in return. Even non bible believers will get the return for their giving. It’s a life principle.

Davao City, a Dream Fulfilled

Davao City Camia Street
Mount Apo can be seen here in Camia Street.

A dream came true.

I finally visited Davao City for the first time last Sunday, November 27. It was short and sweet.

I blogged about places in the Philippines I’d like to visit in the next five years. I put it in the Dreams category.

I was with fellow Iligan bloggers, we arrived in the afternoon, and left around 9:30 in the morning of November 28.

Medyo nabitin ko. I will surely go back to the largest City in the world.

The photos I shot was only in Camia and Juna Avenue, near to Casa Graciana, the inn where we stayed for a night.

Will Tawi-Tawi be my next dream place to go? Who will guide me there? Kai, are you willing?

For a dream to come true, one must think about it, speak about it. And make an effort to do it, and sometimes God will just give it without you lifting a finger.

Younger Women Likes Older Men

Fact.

When I was in my teens, I used to make fun of older men going out with women 10 to 30 years younger. It was such a big deal when Filipino actor Cesar Montano married 15 years younger Sunshine Cruz.

But when I entered the 30s age bracket,  I noticed that women or ahem…girls, 10 to 17 years younger likes to look at me, perhaps smitten by my handsome face. I have even dated a few of them.

I’d like to have a girlfriend or wife who’s 10 to 15 years younger.

Aside from the distinct goodlooks that older men has. The following factors could attribute such attraction:

Emotionally mature. One trait is selfless, it seeks for the other person’s goodwill rather than own.

Financial security
. This probably holds a major reason of all factors. A lady can be attracted directly or indirectly, even if the older man is not a millionaire, it’s the character of being responsible, mature men are more responsible in looking for ways to put food on the table.

Wiser. Probably because older men has been through a lot in life, it can deal hardship or prosperity calmly.

A friend of mine married a 25 years older man. The man isn’t a millionaire. But the marriage is now on the rocks though because the husband has depression problems.

If you heard about your girlfriend is going out with an older man for some reason, you should be suspicious and start getting jealous.

Naderev Saños Response About Climate Gate

Global Warming
Link to the photo: www.istockphoto.com

The Mindanao Bloggers Summit was an eye opener for me, again it reminded that climate change is real and inevitable. I posted an article here and posted a status in my Facebook Wall. But then a friend replied to my status, and he told me a movement called Climate Gate is disproving climate change.

Although, I heard a certain group opposing the “climate change”, but never specifically the name Climate Gate.

Since I missed asking a question during the summit, I asked Climate Change Commissioner Naderev Saño a question I posted on his FB Wall.

Gwapito: “Sir Nadz, what can you say about the Climate Gate? I was at the MBS last week. I forgot to ask you a question.”

Naderev Saño: “The Climate Gate is one of those reminders that nobody’s perfect. Even scientists can make mistakes and they can falter. But all of these mistakes combined together doesn’t debunk the reality of climate change. The big bulk of scientific evidence shows that human-induced climate change is real and is already happening.”

Climate Change or Global Warming is real, there’s even a recent article in Yahoo! about a large iceberg that has a large crack.

Parents Should Apologize to Their Children

Father and Daughter Talking
Link to the photo: www.istockphoto.com

This is my first article about Parenting. I’m talking as a son, am still not an official father or parent myself.

Parents should be humble and know how to truly say sorry to their kids.

When you the parent breaks a promise you gave to your son many months ago, you should be humble enough to admit your mistake. Try to make up for that mistake so you would be a credible father or mother.

Stop playing an arrogant, never sinning god parent. It won’t do any good to yourself and to your children.

I thought I should let this one out.

This “tribute” by Lourd de Veyra might be too hard for the Apple fanatics.

RIP Steve Jobs.

Tagalog, Not Filipino is one of the Philippine National Language

This maybe a small thing to you, but a very big deal for some politically correct Filipinos.

Politically correct Filipinos, would always say that “Filipino” is Philippines’ National Language.

But for Pinoys from the provinces whose first language is not Tagalog would find it a bit offensive or feel isolated.

I always thought I was one of the few who think this way. But after watching a concert of David Dimuzio in Iligan. Dimuzio, an American who speaks tagalog, asked the audience if it’s Tagalog or Filipino, the crowd shouted, “Tagalog!”

Tagalog or Filipino, it’s the same thing.

Climate Change is a Serious Problem

Climate change is a serious problem, it’s not a fictional issue in order to sow fear to everyone.

One testament is that the Philippine government has put up a Climate Change Commission and is holding office in the Malacañang Palace. The Chairperson is none other than the President of the Philippines, Benigno Aquino.

Although, as a Christian I believe that the world will end. Climate change and world degradation is inevitable. Human greed and indiscipline cannot be stopped.

I would still do my part to tell others about this fact, and do my own sustainability. Sustainability is basically doing the little things that would lessen degradation of the environment.

Watch the videos below for you to know the basic information about climate change.

Get Matured One Notch Higher

I should get matured one notch higher. I have to give up some attitudes both online and offline for the sake of the good of others. I should spread positivity.

After hearing the speakers at the Mindanao Bloggers Summit today in Iligan City. Conviction fell over me. Thanks to Commissioner Naderev Saño, Marilou Nanaman, Mr. Ali Bari, Engr. Sumaoy, Anna Oposa and Ms. Janette Toral.

Although the topic was generally about Environment, I felt that to rekindle my love for the environment, it should start from within me, my words, my blog posts.

I should change my articles a bit here, gone will be immature posts. Gone will be my criticism towards Manila. It should be.
