At 33 years old, i still consider myself a football (soccer) newbie. I tried out TWICE for my high school football team back in the 80s, but the closet gay coach did not find me too cute to play. 
Then during college days, i was part of our Architecture/Fine Arts football team, but i was just a decoration, just a filler. Just see how i suck at football.
But those setbacks didn’t stop me from loving and playing the beautiful game! I will join with other guys and girls on my first futsal* scrimmage this Sunday August 5.
Do not give up on the things that you love to do, even if it doesn’t love you back.
*Futsal or Futbol de Sala in Spanish, but popularly called indoor soccer/football.
